The Booth opened its doors in 1981 on The Strip in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It was originally created by two partners/friends, and along the way added a their member to The Booth family. The Booth was built on live music, cheap drinks, and good times. It was a loyal following that very few bars will ever know, not just from the customers but from the staff and musicians as well. The Booth closed its doors on The Strip on November 26th 2006 to a non-renewal of the lease. Luckily, in 2008 The Booth received new life at its new downtown location on 21st Ave. “Big Johnny” Hammock along with Downtown Entertainment LLC. resurrected The Booth with its original mission fully intact. Even with many great namesakes gone (The Ivory Tusk, Solomons/Endzone, Chukker, Brass Monkey, Sidetracks, etc.), The Booth remains and promises to keep the original T-town legacy alive for future generations of Bama fans.
